Woodstoves are a popular economical wood burning option for space heating, which can also be used with a back boiler for a heating system, or as a secondary heat source to supplement a gas boiler.
They create an excellent focal point to a room and come in many different styles from the classical to the very modern contemporary stoves.
These types of wood burners (which vary in design and style) allow a proportion of the heat to be radiated to the room whilst the rest of the heat is transmitted, to serve the home with hot water, heat radiators, underfloor heating systems, or just supplying hot water to be stored in the cylinder. This allows the gas boiler to lay inactive for periods of time saving precious energy.
Wood burners or multi-fuel burners are an economical and efficient method for heating domestic properties. Multi-fuel burners will burn a range of coal/wood and other recommended solid fuels.
Wood burners or multi-fuel stoves also have the advantage of a thermostat fitted to the hot water jacket, which will shut-down the air intake automatically at a pre-set water temperature. This allows the fire to ‘slumber’ and therefore control the output to water and further prolong the burn, saving fuel.
Wood burning stoves can be integrated into the heating system using thermal stores and buffer tanks along with other renewable heat sources.
