This assortment of beautiful barns and showrooms in Rayleigh; who are a registered business selling a great variety of wood-burners, gas fires, and other heating products including many other home and garden supplies. We were firstly approached by the family who own the business to heat the barn areas utilising wood only, they also wanted us to provide a hot water system for the cafe, which runs on the site, using solar thermal technology.
We retro-fitted the whole barn areas with underfloor heating and provided the showroom with a working stove of 60Kw and a cooker stove for the clients to see in working order which was linked into the thermal store which has a 4000 litre capacity to also aid in the production of hot water to the heating system. This was built behind a glass viewing panel within the showroom to show the customers the plant room containing the heart of the building.
Warm air blower units were also used on this project of over 600 sq. metres, to provide heat to the first floor showroom and control of the system was aided with the inclusion of a ‘weather compensation unit’ regulating the temperature of the water from the thermal store.
