What a wonderful opportunity it was to be involved in this project with regard to the size and system demand of this new build.
The architect first approached us after having received a previous design that was not conducive to lower running costs. So we provided a design that would contribute to a system that was both effective and efficient.
The complete building, over 1000sq metres of living space, was heated using under floor heating at both ground floor and first floor levels. The under floor heating is controlled through a weather compensation unit which is keeping the boilers, (four Viessmann) working at their maximum efficiency, at all times, in condensing mode.
We installed 36 wet rooms relevant to the clients needs, and in the kitchen and staff areas we provided hot water via unvented hot water cylinders with a solar thermal input fitted to the building.
The building is now running at 50% of the initial estimated running costs. A building that has warmth and a fast responding effective hot water supply to a lovely home for all residents and carers involved.
One project that still provides a great sense of achievement for us all.
